  4.    This is the article where one of us gets to state our
  5. views about some aspect of computing. But remember, its
  6. not just QUANTUM members who can write this - why not send
  7. me your viewpoint?

  11.    The last month has seen the release of many new
  12. Archimedes computers, as Acorn updates the lower ranges
  13. and targets new markets. In five years we've seen many
  14. developments in the Archie ranges, which now include
  15. processors with 3 different speeds, and 3 different
  16. operating systems. At first these changes seem to be
  17. great, but software compatibility is now starting to
  18. become a real problem.

  20.    The range of different computers on sale is still
  21. fairly small, but the rate of change is fast. Is this a
  22. real problem?

  25. enthusiast who has produced much of the software we use
  26. today, especially from the PD world, but the many new
